Olympians MMA Gregg Knapp Solidifies his spot as a top UK Bantamweight !!
Olympians MMA fighter Gregg "Menchengo" Knapp put doubters to shame on Saturday 28th August as he fully solidified his spot amongst the UK's top Bantamweights with a 3 round domination of Dinky Ninja's Fighter and Top ranked Bantam weight James Doolan,
Knapp controlled the action from the outset and quickly shook the tag of underdog off as he out struck the Scots man for 3 rounds and used his superior wrestling to secure takedowns in every round.
Doolan had a slick ground game and threw some submission attempts from his back but Knapp was far to shrude and evaded them easily.
The fight was non stop from start to finish but all three judges saw the fight in the same light and rendered Knapp victorious with a Unanimous Decision that must put him right amongst the top UK talent !!

Olympians make a statement at Angrrr Management!!!
Angrrr Management: 'Night of Champions' in Kidderminster on 17th October. Olympians MMA boasted three of it's Pro Fighters in this excellent promotion, all three have been working diligently to ensure victory and the blood, sweat and tears paid off. Paul Croft was taking on Steve Neesham in a bad blood fight, Neesham hoping to avenge the beating that Paul put on his brother Rob in a previous Angrrr event. Paul had other plans. The fight started with Paul using his footwork to pressure Neesham against the cage, from there a combination of one-two straight punches dazed Neesham and allowed Paul to slam him to the mat and unleash heavy ground and pound including vicious elbows and hammerfist strikes that (T)KO'd Neesham after just 38 secs! That victory took Crofty to a 3 fight winning streak on the pro circuit and the future holds big things for Chuff Chuff at featherweight.
Up next was ABA boxer and cardio machine Nathan Champ against tough middleweight fighter Steve Behen. Both fighters spent the first few minutes gauging distance and timing in what was going to be a stand-up fight. Nath used his boxing experience to nulify any threat by Behen and picked off his opponent with fast japs and looping over hand rights. Nath showed his boxing pedigree with good ring craft that kept Behen off balance and vulnerable to the right cross. Behen was dropped several times but showed great resilience to keep in the fight. The judges gave Nathan the nod in the decision and he now goes 5-2 as a pro.
Finally, Olympians Coach/Fighter Paul Reed would meet experienced veteran Jordan Miller for the Angrrr Management Featherweight Title. Paul was sporting nasty cuts above and below his eye that were sustained during training and therefore planned to take the fight to the floor immediately. After a brief exchange, Reed took Miller to the ground with a textbook single-leg takedown and secured side control whilst hammering his opponent with punches. Miller knew he was in trouble and scrambled to regain position leaving himself open for Paul to sink in a deep guillotine. Those of us whom have been subjected to his guillotine know there is only one way out of that and Jordan Miller figured it out...tapping after just 2 minutes of the first round. Reedy continues to cement his position as one of the UK's elite featherweight fighters and this was yet another perfect performance from the new Angrrr Management Featherwight Champion.
Olympians Fighter Wes Murch then stepped into the cage to challenge newly crowned Lightweight Champion Tim Newman. The fight has been confirmed and should feature on the next Angrrr event. It promises to be an all-action, fast paced showdown.
Recent results have been a real testament to the coaches and fighters at Olympians MMA. The gym is commanding recognition and now with Championship belts held by Greg Knapp and Paul Reed plus title fights in the pipeline for Wes Murch, the team is growing in stature and reputation. Olympians MMA welcome all levels of experience so come train with the team and be part of it's promising future.

Murch causes Mayhem at Ultimate Challenge !!
The 19th September saw Olympians Fighter/Coach Wesley 'The Immortal' Murch face off against fellow lightweight prospect Mark 'Babyface' Smith in a highly anticipated fight between two of the UK's rising lightweight stars. The match began with both fighters scoring heavy shots in a series of fast paced exchanges. Wez capatalised on Mark Smith's rushing tactics by shooting with his trademark takedown, compliments of the extensive work he has been doing with Olympians wrestling coach Josh Saidi. Once on the matt, both fighters transitioned between positions with Wesley being on the bottom working between guard and half-guard. Ever dangerous from his back, Wesley had a guillotine and a very tight armbar secured only for Smith to narrowly escape.
Wes continued with his high work rate whilst showing a new found composure and slapped on a Kimura from the half-guard with only seconds remaining in the round. Smith's arm was cracking as he was forced to tap at 4.54 of Rd 1. The victory brought wide recognition for Wes within the UK MMA scene and several MMA magazines/sites are now predicting that Wesley Murch will finally realise his potential as one of the UK's finest lightweight fighters.
Submission Wrestling Success for Ian and Jimbo!!!
Olympians MMA fighters Ian Mckechnie and James Taylor competed at Leigh Remedios' submission grappling tournament in Chippenham on 3rd October. A special mention must go to Ian Mckechnie for clearing up in his division and being awarded a well deserved Gold. His jiu-jitsu skills have developed exponentially since training at Olympians and it was a great performance from the former Judo man.
Damian Farr wins the Bristol BJJ Open!!!
Olympians fighter Damian Farr defeated 3 out of 3 opponents to walk away from Pedro Bessa's Bristol BJJ Open with a Gold medal. Damian did us all proud at Olympians by taking 1st place at such a prestigious event. A student of Pedro Bessa, Damian was then awarded his BJJ blue belt by Pedro himself for his outstanding performance. We now have several fighters training with Pedro, whom is a world-class BJJ fighter, and such tuition can only lead to greater achievements for Olympians.

Jed Put in a great performance against a well experianced Harvey Dines winning the first round but in the second got caught In the Ju Jitsu fighters Rear naked choke and was unable to escape. The home crowd seemed to love Jeds fierce trading style and strong takedowns and this is one to follow for the future.
John "The Swan" Maggs put in a great performance against his opponent floyd and the two really went at it with some fierce exchanges of which John seemed to get the better and land some viscious knees, the fight then went to the floor via a takedown by maggs and once there he remained dominant trying to submit his more experianced opponent as well as landing some good strikes.
The second round did not dissappoint with the fierce striking exchange continuing and both fighters landing some great shots in a battle that was confirmed as fight of the night at the bell all 3 judges had the fight a unanimous decision to John and he bought home the W!!
